On March 2, our team had the opportunity to lead a session at the Winshape Foundation’s ONE Conference. This 3-day event brought together the teams from all eight departments to connect around Winshape’s refreshed mission and vision. Our team led a session titled “Creating Experiences”.

Elevate founder, Billy Boughey, led participants through the four principles of creating great experiences and how to apply them in their particular role.

Off than On. What you say off the mic, is more important than what you say on. Stay authentic and genuine in your off the mic communication.

See a Gift, Say a Gift. When you notice a gift in someone on your team, say it! Acknowledging your team’s strengths will bring better team culture. Pour it Out. Whether you have a meeting you need to lead, or a big event coming up, give it all you got! Leave your energy out on the field to make something truly great.

Covers. You can never judge a book by its’ cover, right? People will be drawn into an experience when they feel valued and cared for. Take the time to get to know the WHO behind your team.

Most people think experiences are only created by the person with the microphone in their hand. But most often, experiences are created by a combination of many moments: a moment when someone felt valued, a moment when someone gave all of their energy to make something run smoothly, a moment when someone was treated with respect.

These moments are created by everyone involved in an event, not just the emcee. It takes all hands on deck to elevate the room, therefore elevating the culture.

Know your role, know that YOU can create positive experiences for those around you, whether at an event, or in your office.

Keep Elevating!
