Coca-Cola’s 2018 SRA Kick-Off Meeting — a corporate kickoff transformed through virtual reality into an experience that connected 25 team members to their mission in a way a standard meeting never could.
Coca-Cola’s mission is to refresh the world, inspire moments of optimism and happiness, and create value that makes a difference. In 2018, their Corporate Scientific and Regulatory Affairs team decided to apply that mission inward — turning their annual Kick-Off Meeting into something that actually lived up to the company’s own standard for remarkable experiences.
They invited Elevate to make it happen through VR-To-Go.
Rather than a standard day of presentations and slides, the SRA team moved through four custom virtual reality sessions — each one handpicked and designed around the event’s overarching theme: enabling growth. Twenty-five team members stepped into experiences that challenged them to take risks, trust their teammates, think beyond their limits, and embrace the kind of discomfort that produces real change.
The meeting didn’t just kick off 2018. It shifted how the team thought about what working together could look like.
VR for the sake of VR is a novelty. VR built around a team’s specific goals and mission is something else entirely.
Transform a corporate kick-off meeting into an engaging, memorable experience that connected Coca-Cola’s SRA team to the company’s mission, aligned them around ways of working together, and eliminated the passive, disconnected feeling that plagues most internal meetings.
We listened first — studying Coca-Cola’s mission and the specific goals of the Kick-Off Meeting before designing anything. Then we built four VR sessions from scratch, each one mapped to the theme of enabling growth, and led the team through experiences that made the content of the day tangible rather than theoretical.

When Coca-Cola team members were asked what they took away from the VR experience, their answers weren’t about the technology. They were about each other — taking risks together, encouraging teammates, thinking beyond what’s comfortable, and trusting the people beside them when things feel uncertain.
That’s the power of an experience designed with intention. The VR was the vehicle. The destination was a team that understood something new about how they could work together.
One team member said it directly: “We want a culture where people can make mistakes and embrace risks. We haven’t had that type of environment in the past, but this VR experience showed how we can embrace risks in the future.”
That’s not a meeting outcome. That’s a culture moment. And Coca-Cola’s SRA team left 2018’s kickoff carrying it with them.
"We want a culture where people can make mistakes and embrace risks. We haven't had that type of environment in the past, but this VR experience showed how we can embrace risks in the future."
