Georgia World Congress Center Authority — a one-hour virtual event built to spark meaningful dialogue on race, relationships, and respect.
The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is a titan of southern hospitality. Overseeing the Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Centennial Olympic Park, and some of Downtown Atlanta’s most iconic venues, the GWCCA isn’t just the #1 convention, sports, and entertainment destination in the world — it’s a community. And communities have hard conversations.
When GWCCA wanted to create space for one of those conversations — on race, relationships, and respect — they called Elevate. The result was a one-hour virtual event that was meaningful, practical, and exactly what their team needed.
Hosted live from our virtual studio through EasyWebinar, the event brought together Billy as host, Jen from GWCCA, and speaker Sam Collier — who delivered a talk and led an open Q&A — to create an honest, grounded dialogue on the racial injustices shaping our world.
A conversation this important doesn’t leave room for error. GWCCA needed a team that could handle the technical side seamlessly so the human side could breathe.
Create a virtual event around one of the most important conversations a workplace can have — without it feeling corporate, stiff, or performative. The format had to serve the message.
Before the event, we held a speaker prep call with Sam Collier — giving him full context on the purpose of the event and what the audience needed from him. We ran the full production from our virtual studio, managed the platform, prepped every speaker, and built a run of show designed for depth. Every element, from the music to the Q&A format, was chosen with intention.
The overall run of show landed exactly as intended — meaningful, interactive, and practical. A few things that made it work:
To keep the Q&A sharp and relevant, we collected audience questions from the chat in real time on a shared Google Doc, displayed them on a separate screen for Billy to reference, and had a team member highlight the strongest ones to surface. Nothing got lost. Nothing felt generic.
The music and “This or That” engagement segment ran smoothly with virtual attendees — bringing lightness to a weighty topic without undercutting it.
And the speaker prep call with Sam gave him the context he needed to walk in ready. It made a difference.
