Preferred Apartment Communities is a real estate investment agency that owns and operates high-quality multifamily properties across the country — grocery-anchored shopping centers, office buildings, student housing, and more. They’re a company built on generating value, not just for shareholders, but for the communities and people they serve.
When COVID-19 hit and teams went home, PAC made a decision a lot of companies didn’t: they doubled down on their people. Rather than let nine weeks of uncertainty quietly erode their culture, they partnered with Elevate to create something consistent, energizing, and genuinely fun — a weekly virtual hangout that gave their 150–200 employees something to look forward to every single week.
Each session brought company executives together with employees to share announcements, celebrate wins, and just spend time together. Birthdays were celebrated. Games were played. Dance-offs happened. Amazon gift cards were given away. And through all of it, PAC kept moving forward — connected, engaged, and stronger for it.
PAC and Elevate had history before this project — and that trust mattered when it came time to do something none of us had done before.

We brought the ideas, the structure, and the energy so PAC could show up and be present with their people. Every week was thoughtfully designed to balance company business with real human connection — the kind that makes employees feel seen, not just informed.
One hundred and fifty to two hundred employees showed up every week for nine straight weeks. Over the course of the series, they sent 1,209 chat messages, shared 425 emojis, and filled every session with the kind of energy that doesn’t happen by accident — it happens by design.
Birthday celebrations. Company wins. Engaging games. Dance-offs. Amazon gift cards. Confetti. The PAC Virtual Hangouts became something employees genuinely looked forward to — a weekly reminder that their company saw them, valued them, and wasn’t going to let a pandemic be an excuse to go quiet.
